Two British women have been arrested following a violent altercation at a hotel in Ibiza, Spain. The women, aged 27 and 28, were sharing a room in the resort of Sant Antoni de Portmany when the fight broke out in the early hours of the morning.
Bloody scene at hotel
Emergency services were alerted after one of the women approached hotel staff covered in blood. Spain's Guardia Civil (Civil Guard) responded to the scene and found evidence of a mutual assault. Traces of blood were discovered in the hotel's common areas, and both women sustained injuries to their faces and arms.
According to a spokesperson for the Civil Guard, officers arrived to find one woman at the reception with several bleeding injuries, while the other remained in the shared room. After interviewing both women and witnesses, the authorities determined that the two had assaulted each other during an argument.
Arrests and complaints
Both women were arrested on suspicion of causing bodily harm. One was taken to a local medical centre for treatment and to obtain a medical injury report. Subsequently, both filed complaints against each other, according to the spokesperson.
The spokesperson said: 'The Civil Guard has arrested two women, aged 27 and 28, both British nationals, on suspicion of causing bodily harm following a mutual assault at a hotel in the town of San Antonio.'
Similar incident in Mallorca
This incident follows a similar case just over a week ago, when a British holidaymaker was arrested in Mallorca for breaking off part of his father-in-law's thumb during a hotel room fight in Sa Coma. The 65-year-old victim was treated at Manacor hospital for a head wound, a deep cut on his nose, and the amputated thumb. The 42-year-old son-in-law was arrested at the hotel reception, with blood found in the room and corridor.
