Family Day Out Turns to Tragedy at Golf Venue

A fun family day out at a popular crazy golf venue turned into a nightmare after a collapsing wall left a five-year-old boy fighting for his life. The incident occurred at Sidcup Family Golf in Chislehurst, south east London, on Sunday at approximately 5.45pm.

The young boy was attending a birthday party at the venue when the wall gave way. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital by the London Air Ambulance, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

Second Child Injured and Venue Response

A six-year-old girl was also injured in the same incident. Fortunately, her injuries were less severe, and she has since been treated and discharged from the hospital.

In the immediate aftermath, a spokesperson for Sidcup Family Golf stated that their first priority was ‘ensuring they received immediate medical attention’. They added, ‘Our thoughts are entirely with the child and their family at this time.’

A witness reported that staff at the centre acted swiftly, with one colleague's quick actions potentially saving the boy's life. The venue, which features a 46-bay driving range and two outdoor dinosaur-themed crazy golf courses, has been closed since the accident.

Ongoing Investigation and Emergency Services

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called to reports of a child being injured by a collapsing wall. Officers attended the scene alongside paramedics.

Sidcup Family Golf has stated it is fully cooperating with emergency services and has launched its own investigation into how the tragic wall collapse happened. Enquiries are ongoing as authorities work to determine the cause of the structural failure.
