Boy dies after lorry collision in Essex; man arrested

A boy has died after being struck by a lorry in Essex, police confirmed. The incident occurred on Epping Road in Ongar at approximately 4:20pm on Friday, July 10.

Arrest and Investigation

Essex Police arrested a 48-year-old man from Derbyshire at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injuries by dangerous driving. After the child succumbed to his injuries in hospital, the man was rearrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail until mid-September while the investigation continues.
