Home Bargains has issued an urgent recall for a Toy Story-themed children's water bottle after discovering that the spout can detach from the lid, posing a serious choking hazard. The discount retailer is advising customers to stop using the product immediately and keep it away from children.
Recall details and affected batches
The recall, issued by TJ Morris, Home Bargains' parent company, follows a failure to meet the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. The affected bottles, which feature a blue body with a red lid and Toy Story characters, went on sale in May to coincide with the release of Pixar's Toy Story 5.
The specific batch numbers affected are 11449732, 11449736, 11449737, 11449738, 11449742, 11449743, and 11449744. Customers can find the batch code on the care label inside the bottle or on the original price tag.
Customer instructions
Home Bargains is urging anyone who has purchased one of these bottles to return it to their nearest store for a full refund. Even if customers are unsure whether their bottle is affected or no longer have the packaging, they can still return it for a refund.
In the recall notice, Home Bargains apologised for the inconvenience, stating: 'We apologise for any inconvenience caused.'
Recent safety issues at Home Bargains
This recall follows a separate 'do not eat' warning issued by Home Bargains for Lay's Sour Cream & Dill Crisps, which were found to contain undeclared allergens, posing a potential health risk.
