Rod Stewart Cancels Vegas Shows Due to Sinus Infection

Sir Rod Stewart, the 81-year-old British music icon, was forced to cancel two of his Las Vegas concerts due to an ongoing health issue. The singer axed two performances of his residency, The Encore Shows, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, scheduled for the weekend of May 30-31, 2026.

Health Issue Forces Cancellation

Stewart regretfully informed the Las Vegas Review Journal: 'My apologies to my family of fans. I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer.' The sinus infection has sidelined him temporarily, but he remains optimistic about returning to the stage.

Upcoming Performances

Despite the cancellations, Stewart is set to perform in Las Vegas until June 6, with tickets still available for Tuesday, June 2. He will then return at the end of August for another stint of shows. His next scheduled stop is Phoenix, Arizona. The singer has a long history with Las Vegas, having celebrated his 200th show in March 2025 after 13 years of performing at the Colosseum.

Show Promise

The Encore Shows promise to 'treat ticket buyers to rollicking sets of his greatest hits, proving that “Rod the Mod” still knows how to give one heck of a live concert.' Stewart's performances are known for their energy and nostalgia, drawing fans from around the world.

Previous Health-Related Cancellations

This is not the first time Stewart has had to cancel shows due to health issues. Last June, he also pulled out of several gigs ahead of his headlining slot at Glastonbury, citing ill health. These cancellations have been a rare but necessary measure for the veteran performer.

Controversy and Political Views

Stewart has also been in the news for his political endorsements. He recently endorsed Nigel Farage and the Reform Party, telling The Times: 'We’re fed up with the Tories. We’ve got to give Farage a chance. He’s coming across well. What options have we got?' This drew criticism from fans who called him 'out of touch' and motivated by his 'great wealth.'

On the other hand, Stewart has not hesitated to criticize former US President Donald Trump. During a speech at the 50th anniversary of The King’s Trust, with King Charles in attendance, Stewart said: 'May I say, well done in the Americas. You were superb, absolutely superb. Put that little ratbag in his place… it went right over his head, right over his head.'

Fans are hopeful for Stewart's swift recovery and look forward to his return to the stage. For those with tickets to the canceled shows, refunds or exchanges are expected to be available.
