Call The Midwife star Helen George has ended her relationship with boyfriend Dan Innes, seven months after he moved into her London home. The actress, 42, had been dating the 52-year-old property marketing agency manager since March 2025.
Earlier this year, Innes moved into the home George shares with her two children, Wren Ivy and Lark, from her previous relationship with co-star Jack Ashton. However, reports this week confirmed the split, with Innes seen moving his belongings out of the property.
Social media hints at heartbreak
Following the breakup, George took to social media to share posts alluding to her feelings. She reposted a quote on her Instagram Story that read: 'I absolutely take responsibility for when I am wrong. But I will never apologise for responding to disrespect. If you lit the match, do not stand in the flames pretending to be the victim.'
Another repost stated: 'I don't want my daughter to be like me. I want her to speak up sooner. Walk away faster. Trust herself deeper. Apologise less. Take up more space. Ask bigger questions. Dream louder. And if that means she becomes everything I wasn't good.'
Earlier this week, she posted a picture of her daughter with the caption: 'When the chaos leaves, the calm resumes,' accompanied by a praying hands emoji, often used to express gratitude.
Source confirms split
A source told The Sun: 'Helen and Dan have gone their separate ways. They had a whirlwind romance but their differences became apparent. It has been a difficult time for them both.'
George and Innes reportedly met on the dating app Raya and documented their romance with social media posts on Valentine's Day and during a holiday in Cornwall. Innes has two children, aged 14 and 12, from a previous marriage that lasted from 2008 to 2016. He attended industry events with George, including a screening of Call The Midwife.
Previous relationship with Jack Ashton
George's romance with Innes followed her split from former co-star Jack Ashton, whom she dated for seven years. The pair met on the BBC show, where she played Trixie Franklin and he played Tom Hereward. Their characters also had a romantic storyline, though Trixie ended their engagement.
The actors reportedly fell for each other while filming the 2016 Christmas special in South Africa. They welcomed daughter Wren Ivy in 2017 and Lark in 2021. By July 2023, the couple had separated. George told The Mirror at the time: 'Some months ago, we separated. Our two beautiful girls remain the focus and I respectfully ask for privacy for this next chapter.'
A source added: 'Helen and Jack's decision to end their relationship has been amicable, and no one else is involved, they have just grown apart as a couple. They are both incredibly committed to working together to be the best parents they can for their two daughters.'
