Emmerdale star Katie Hill has been hit with a tragic family loss, which she shared on social media. The Sarah Sugden star took to Instagram to pay tribute to her beloved pet dog, Millie, who sadly passed away at the age of 16.
She shared several pictures from over the years, including some from her childhood, as well as a sweet video of Millie playing in a field of yellow flowers. 'Our little millie moo,' she wrote beside the carousel of pictures, 'the best dog ever. 16 years of loving you, life won’t be the same without you. I’ll never forget all the beautiful memories we made. Sleep tight little baby, we will miss you so much and love you forever.'
The actress was inundated with support from her Emmerdale co-stars, who reached out to share their love and condolences. 'Awww Katie I’m so so sorry to read this. Sending love to you all,' Vanessa Woodfield actress Michelle Hardwick wrote. 'Sorry darling,' Beth Cordingly, who plays Ruby Miligan, said, while Mandy Dingle star Lisa Riley added: 'So much love.'
Emmerdale Storyline Update
Katie’s character Sarah is currently in the middle of a big Emmerdale story, having taken custody of who she believes to be her biological daughter. Sarah and husband Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) were keen to have a baby, and asked Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) to be their surrogate. However, during the IVF treatment period, Charity slept with Ross Barton (Michael Parr) and fell pregnant herself. She quickly made the decision not to tell Sarah and Jacob the truth about the baby, and they are currently living in ignorant bliss with their little bundle of joy.
Unfortunately, that may not be set to last. Viewers will know that Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) has been bullying Jacob, and she just so happens to have figured out Charity’s baby secret. She is currently using her knowledge to blackmail Charity, and as much as it would hurt Jacob to tell him the truth, actress Caroline has revealed that getting the money is her primary motivation right now. 'I think there is a part of her that wants to do it, but I think she wants that money more. I think that the power that she could say a tiny thing…'
Meanwhile, Charity is pushed to her limits to try and keep her secret under wraps. 'She fights with that whole thing of like, “Do you know what? Maybe I just need to face the music”,' Emma Atkins said. 'But she battles with that and then decides, no way. I’ll just do whatever I need to do to keep the secret, and then they go on this journey, Todd and Charity, which is where we’re at now, and it’s brilliant.'
