The Driscoll family in Coronation Street face fresh turmoil as Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike) is arrested on suspicion of assault, with his father Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) warning that there is a high chance his son could go to prison. The incident unfolds as the family attempts to move past the ordeal involving Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon).
Christina's drunken fall leads to confrontation
The trouble begins when Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) gets drunk at the pub, believing her relationship with George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) is ending because he has barely been in touch while away. After drinking too much, Christina topples over in the ginnel, where she is spotted by Jake Windass (Bobby Bradshaw). Jake pours water all over her and films the incident on his phone.
Just as Jake pours the water, Ollie shouts at him to stop and rushes through the ginnel, forcing Jake to race after him. Christina and Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) later find Ollie with Jake pinned to the floor. Christina shouts at Ollie, telling him that Jake only used water, and a mortified Ollie releases him.
Arrest and family fears
In the aftermath, Jake's dad Gary Windass (Mikey North) tells his son it is important to be honest when making his statement to the police. Christina and Glenda assure Ollie that he acted in good faith, but that does not help when PC Jess Heywood arrives and arrests him on suspicion of assault.
With Ollie potentially facing a custodial sentence, Ben Driscoll tells Gary that there is a high chance his son might go to prison. Jake listens into their conversation, feeling guilty, leaving viewers to wonder whether Jake will tell the truth and reveal what really happened so Ollie can return home.
