Caleb Miligan (William Ash) embarked on a risky new plan to restore his criminal edge in Emmerdale, but it took an unexpected turn when a disturbing discovery was made. The businessman, still smarting from being scammed by Jai Sharma's teenage son Archie weeks ago, decided to sell counterfeit shoes to prove he wasn't an easy target.
Kerry and Caleb discover 'help me' label
In upcoming episodes, Caleb's sidekick Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) helps sort deliveries. As Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) watches from the break area, Caleb and Kerry find a label sewn into one of the shoes that reads 'help me'. Horrified, Kerry urges Caleb to go to the police, but he hesitates.
Bear's furious reaction
Later, Kerry finds Bear examining the shoe with the label. He reacts furiously upon learning Caleb hasn't contacted authorities. Reminded of his own past as a slave on a farm, Bear confronts Caleb about the moral implications. Caleb claims he has informed the police, but his actions suggest otherwise.
Caleb shifts focus to car parts
Intrigued by Kammy Hadiq's (Shebz Miah) information about markup on branded versus non-branded car parts, Caleb tells Kerry they could make significant money selling car parts. He suggests she consider the idea, but she remains skeptical. The counterfeit shoe situation has already caused problems, raising questions about the risks of another dodgy product.
Actress Laura Norton commented on the storyline: 'She's had a taste for it now, and she's quite good at it. She knows how to impress somebody of Caleb's stature. Will and I have really enjoyed working together and we've said that we need to find another opportunity for a story like this again, because it's when you put two characters that you wouldn't normally put together, in the same world, it makes the scenes so interesting to watch.'
Stakes raised in upcoming episodes
Norton confirmed that the stakes will be raised once again in this story, as Caleb and Kerry navigate the consequences of their actions. The discovery of the 'help me' label has already sparked tension, and the potential shift to car parts could lead to further complications.
