Week in Wildlife: Super-Rare Bongos, Ducks on Parade, and Marmalade the Thames Seal

This week’s best wildlife photographs capture extraordinary moments from around the world, from the critically endangered mountain bongos in Kenya to the beloved Marmalade the seal in London.

Mountain Bongos in Kenya

Some of the world’s few remaining mountain bongos were photographed in Nanyuki, Kenya. With only about 80 individuals left in the wild, these critically endangered antelopes are a rare sight. The image shows them moving through the forested landscape of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest mountain.

Marmalade the Thames Seal

Marmalade, a female harbour seal known for her distinctive orange-tinged coat, was captured in a relaxed pose by Guardian photographer Jill Mead. She went viral earlier this year for her playful appearances in the Thames near Greenwich. Sadly, this may be her last photo, as she was reported deceased by the River Thames seal watch. Her memory lives on in the joy she brought to London.
