Dulwich Park, a 29-hectare Green Flag award-winning park in Southwark, South London, offers a tree-shaded perimeter path, a boating lake with pedalos and rowing boats, and a café serving sourdough pizzas. It sits beside East Dulwich, which ranked second in Muddy Stilettos' guide to the best places to live in London in 2025.
Tree-shaded path and boating lake
The park's tree-lined perimeter path winds under a leafy canopy, popular with walkers and joggers. Dogs are welcome off the lead, but owners are advised to avoid peak heat times and check pavement temperatures to protect pets' paws. At the heart of the park, the boating lake offers traditional rowing boats and pedalos for hire. Children aged 15 and under pay £4, while a family ticket for two adults and two children costs £17 for a 30-minute session. Boating is available on weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays from April to October, weather permitting. Swimming is strictly prohibited.
Dulwich Clock Café and other amenities
The Dulwich Clock Café, open from 8am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and until 6pm on Saturdays, serves sourdough pizzas alongside other food and drinks. The park also features a children's playground for under-14s, a free outdoor gym, four outdoor table tennis tables, tennis courts, cricket nets, and a bowling green. London Recumbents operates a cycle hire service daily except Christmas, from 10am to 5:30pm. The Francis Peek Community Centre hosts classes and events, and the Dulwich Vegetable Garden near Rosebery Gate welcomes volunteers on Wednesdays and Sundays from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Dulwich Park Friends organise guided walks on Wednesday mornings and a monthly volunteering session on the first Saturday.
