Fennies Nurseries has confirmed plans to open a new purpose-built nursery at the former Beckenham Bowls Club site on Kings Hall Road in March 2027. The move will see the group relocate its existing nursery from the same road into the new building, which is currently under construction.
New Facility Details and Design
The nursery group, which operates 28 settings across London and the South East, said the development is part of its continued investment in early years education. The new building has been designed to provide more space and resources for staff to deliver learning experiences for children, with a range of dedicated indoor and outdoor facilities.
Features will include three baby rooms, each with its own milk kitchen and nappy changing area, two toddler rooms, and two preschool rooms with direct access to outdoor garden spaces. The nursery will also include four garden areas, a cooking studio, and an art studio.
Leadership and Experience
The new nursery will be led by Senior Nursery Manager Polly, who has 26 years of experience in early years education. Polly has previously supported nursery teams through periods of change and most recently helped open Fennies Richmond.
Speaking about the new opening, Polly said: “I am incredibly excited to begin the next chapter of my journey as I prepare to open and manage the new Beckenham site. This opportunity means so much to me, and I feel genuinely privileged to be trusted to lead a nursery from the very beginning. I will be taking everything I have learnt over the years with me, the experience, the resilience, the lessons, the successes and even the challenges, and using it to create something truly special at the new Fennies Beckenham.”
Impact on Local Families
Fennies said the purpose-built setting will allow practitioners to work in a modern environment while maintaining the approach already familiar to local families. The company said the move will help it expand its established presence in Beckenham while ensuring children and families are supported throughout the transition to the new site.
