Government's Position
The NT government has defended its decision, stating that the closures are necessary due to low enrollment numbers and high operational costs. Officials say that students will be offered places at larger regional schools, with transportation provided.
However, critics argue that the alternative schools are too far away and that the travel arrangements will be disruptive. They also point out that many families do not have reliable access to vehicles or public transport.
