Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts, 40, has given birth to a beautiful baby girl, marking the arrival of her first child with partner Mitch Hahn. The singer, who announced her pregnancy on Christmas Day, took to Instagram this weekend to share a series of adorable snaps of their newborn.

Posting a carousel of photos, including a selfie of the baby sleeping on her chest and being carried out of the hospital by her father, Nicola wrote: 'Our beautiful baby girl is here. We haven’t stopped staring at her perfect little face or kissing her softest little head.' She added: 'She arrived healthy and content a couple of weeks ago at 38 weeks weighing 6.5lbs and is thriving. It’s heaven on earth with her and we can hardly believe she’s ours.' The couple has not yet revealed the baby’s name.

Earlier, Nicola revealed she had undergone surgery at 22 weeks to 'keep the baby in.' She shared on social media: 'I’ve been under instruction not to do much since I had the surgery at 22 weeks to help keep baby in. Hitting that 34 week mark was a big relief. I now only have a few weeks left.' When she announced her pregnancy in December, she debuted her bump and wrote: 'We’ve been keeping a secret. We are five months pregnant! We can’t wait to meet our little one in the spring.'
