After the show, he returned to Hartlepool, joining the dance group Ruff Diamond and reaching the finals of Got to Dance in 2013.
Career Crossroads and Breakthrough Roles
Following this, Cope faced self-doubt and considered alternative careers, like railway work. However, persistence paid off when he auditioned for Emmerdale while on holiday, submitting a quick self-tape without expectations. Seven weeks later, he was cast as Nicky Miligan, a role that brought widespread recognition and the joy of appearing on his grandmother's favourite shows, including Vera.

Participating in the Strictly Come Dancing live tour revitalised Cope, with intense rehearsals boosting him emotionally and physically.
