Virgin Island Star Holly Stark Pregnant After Controversial Show

A star from the controversial Channel 4 show Virgin Island has announced she is pregnant just 11 months after appearing on the series. Holly Stark, who took part in the inaugural season of the show, shared the news on Instagram with baby scan pictures, writing: 'Baby Grant ❤️ Due August 2026.'

The show brings together 12 adult virgins for an intimacy course at a Mediterranean retreat. Holly's joint post with her boyfriend David, whom she introduced to followers in December 2025, was met with warm congratulations from fans and fellow cast members.

Thomas Lewis, a participant from season one, commented: 'Congratulations, you're going to be a great mum!' Dr Danielle Harel, a sex and relationships expert on the show, exclaimed: 'Wow, this is amazing! Congratulations, sweetie!' Taylor Marie Wilde, another friend from the show, added: 'So proud of you! You're doing amazing!'

Holly and Taylor recently shared a throwback video from the show, including moments where Holly said, 'I am bisexual, and I'm proud,' and Taylor told a therapist: 'I think I might not like men, like at all.' In a recent update, the girls were asked if they had anything to share. Holly responded by touching her belly: 'I think it's kind of obvious.' Taylor joked, 'Oh you got fat,' sparking laughter between them.

Controversy and Impact

The show sparked debate upon its release, with some questioning the techniques involving 'surrogate partner therapists' and the airing of sex scenes. Sabrina Barr, Metro TV Editor, attended a screening for season two and commented: 'Controversial it may be, there's no denying the impact it's made on audiences. The virgins who go on the show are not weird. Many of their issues are common but treated as taboo. As the sex therapists explained, many who struggle in secret have no idea that help is available.'

Return for Season Two

Virgin Island is returning for a second instalment with 12 new young participants. Virgin Island Commissioning Editor Jonah Weston said: 'It's been such a thrill to watch this show catch fire. This is a live issue among young people, and from the brave cast to our wonderful experts I don't think I've ever worked on anything quite so bold, warm and well-intentioned.'

Season 2 premieres on Monday April 27 at 9pm on Channel 4.
