Mark Williams, best known for playing Arthur Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, is now taking questions from fans. Twenty-five years have passed since the first Harry Potter film, and with the HBO reboot arriving this Christmas, Warner Bros is celebrating with new features at the studio tour. Williams, who played the Ministry of Magic employee and father of seven Weasley children, dyed his hair red for the role. He has also had a prolific career on stage and screen, including his breakthrough on The Fast Show, and roles in Father Brown, Doctor Who, and more. Williams will answer queries about Potter and his career. Post your questions by noon BST on Monday 4 May, and answers will be published in June.
Career Highlights
Williams began his career with the Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre. He gained fame on The Fast Show in the 1990s. Other film credits include Stardust, 101 Dalmatians, and Shakespeare in Love. On television, he starred in 140 episodes of Father Brown and appeared in Red Dwarf and Doctor Who. He also presented quiz show The Link and documentary series on UK industrial history.
Reflections on Life
Williams noted that despite technological advances, humans remain similar to our ancestors. He said, "We think we're cleverer than our forebears, but we're not. We still bring up our children in the same haphazard way, and if there is more than one switch, we still don't know which one turns the light on."
