New reality star Mica Harris has revealed the crucial advice passed down from her Prime Minister aunt that she will be drawing on during her time in the ITV villa.
The 21-year-old student, originally from Barbados and now based in London, boasts some remarkably high-profile family connections. Her aunt, Mia Amor Mottley, serves as the Prime Minister of Barbados, while both her grandfather and great-grandfather held distinguished political positions on the Caribbean island.
With such an impressive family firmly in her corner, Mica is holding tight to their pearls of wisdom as she ventures into the world of reality television. When pressed on the key guidance from her aunt that she will be relying upon, Mica said: 'Definitely just staying true to yourself, being authentic.'
Mica added: 'I feel like I have also learned a lot from even just observing her. Like how graceful she is and how she will literally talk to anyone. The way she carries herself as well, I have definitely seen and taken inspiration from that.'
The Caribbean-born star says the women in her family have shaped her outlook on every aspect of her life, including romance. She credits them entirely for her 'very high' standards when it comes to relationships. She explained: 'My family is full of very strong women and I am very lucky and blessed to have been raised around these types of women. It has definitely moulded the way I go about my life entirely, and definitely my dating. I have very high standards.'
Above all else, Mica credits her aunt and wider family for instilling 'a lot of values, such as knowing your self-worth and confidence and just staying true to yourself.' When it comes to her ideal partner, Mica has her sights set on someone tall, well-built, and with a great sense of humour. 'The most important thing for me is personality,' she told ITV.
The newest Islander is not the only contestant with notable connections. Fellow 2026 bombshell Jasmine Muller is well known for her romance with former Arsenal star Hector Bellerin back in 2021. She has recently spoken out about their break-up, shedding light on where things stand between them in 2026.
Love Island's 2026 summer series kicks off on Monday 1st June at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
