London's newest theatre, The Arts at Marble Arch, will open this summer with two major musical productions. The venue, a temporary structure with 594 seats, is located near Marble Arch on the site where the Mound once stood. It is nearly 250 seats larger than the historic Arts Theatre in the West End, which is currently closed for refurbishment.
Opening Season Lineup
The theatre will launch in July with a return of the cult musical Heathers, running from July 9 to August 22. This adaptation of the Winona Ryder and Christian Slater black comedy has previously enjoyed several seasons in London, primarily at The Other Palace. The limited 52-performance run will precede a UK tour.
Following Heathers, the venue will host Burlesque from September 12 to January 31, 2027. The musical adaptation of the Christina Aguilera film had a brief West End run last year, cut short to make way for Paddington the Musical. This time, the production has a longer booking and features musical theatre star Cassidy Jansen in the lead role.
Additionally, a daytime summer show for children, Be Like Blippi, will run from August 5 to 23, featuring an actor portraying the popular US kids' character.
Venue Details
The Arts at Marble Arch is intended to operate for at least two years, or as locals say, 'five Mounds'. The project was announced earlier this year as a way to keep the Arts Theatre active during its closure. Tickets for all three shows are available now.
