Sam Dingle (James Hooton) has been busy planning a surprise for his wife Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) in Emmerdale, but his secret efforts are causing problems. For weeks, Lydia has been attending dance classes alone, as Sam made it clear he was not interested in dancing. However, unbeknownst to Lydia, Sam has been secretly taking lessons from Ross Barton (Michael Parr).
Ross has added many skills since his return in 2024: Director of Operations at Home Farm, lead investigator in the barn fires mystery on Robert Sugden’s land, a flirt, and now a dance instructor. In upcoming episodes, Sam seeks more lessons from Ross to impress Lydia. He schedules several sessions but has to decline a cozy evening with his wife due to his busy dance calendar.
At Home Farm, Kim Tate (Claire King) is shocked to discover that Sam has been lying about working extra hours to avoid spending time with Lydia. Concerned for her best friend, Kim grows suspicious when Lydia admits feeling estranged from Sam. Meanwhile, Ross manages another night with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), but Sam’s desperation to rehearse interrupts their romantic moment. To hide their secret fling, Ross quickly claims Laurel will help Sam with his dancing.
With Sam focused on perfecting his moves before revealing the surprise to Lydia, will he realize his sneaking around is damaging their relationship? Or will Kim step in to intervene?
Dance Deception Unfolds
Sam’s plan to surprise Lydia with his new dance skills is admirable, but his lies are creating a rift. Kim’s discovery could lead to confrontation, while Ross juggles his own secrets. Viewers will see if Sam can salvage his marriage before it’s too late.
