Jenson Cole (Ryan Clayton) is forced out of hiding in upcoming Hollyoaks scenes after his unnerving behaviour led to him keeping a low profile. The former nightclub owner has proven himself to be an enigma since arriving in the village, keeping his cards close to his chest. However, from the start, his animosity towards Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) was clear, and Warren was later revealed to be his long-lost brother.
After getting to know him, Jenson seemed to turn over a new leaf and wanted to be like Warren, though one might argue he simply wants to take Warren's place. He embarked on a relationship with Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) and repeatedly lorded it over his older brother. Last month, Mercedes was left worried after Jenson turned up at her home unannounced and refused to leave. Warren kicked him out, setting the scene for a reunion between Mercedes and Warren, who shared a kiss unaware that Jenson was watching from afar, seething.
Having promised Myra (Nicole Barner-Lane) he would keep his distance, Jenson took up residence in the newly-unoccupied Blake residence, hiding out of sight. Next week, he leaves food unattended, triggering the smoke alarm and risking exposure. Mercedes heads to get her stoma removed, leaving Warren to look after the children. With Sebastian unwell, Myra offers to help. She takes Seb to the Blake flat to pick up his console, with Jenson hiding. Despite his efforts, Myra discovers him and is startled.
Jenson returns with Myra to the McQueens, where he reveals that since his mother's death, he has really struggled, and finding out about Warren's existence was the only positive in his life. Now he feels he has nothing. The question is whether he is being genuine and can be forgiven for his previous actions. Warren will not be happy if he finds out Jenson is still hanging around his family.
Mercedes star Jennifer Metcalfe spoke about Jenson's guarded personality last month, saying: 'He is quite a guarded soul – and obviously some people are guarded in life and there's nothing shifty about them – but there is an air of that Jenson. He's just come into the village and nobody knows that much about him. Everything everyone thought they did know when he arrived was all a lie, so he hasn't set himself in very good stead.'
Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4's streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
