An all-female production of David Mamet's iconic play 'Glengarry Glen Ross' is set to premiere at London's Old Vic this summer, with the cast now officially announced. Director Patrick Marber, who previously helmed a Broadway revival last year, will gender-flip the classic drama, which explores themes of toxic masculinity and cutthroat capitalism.
Cast Announcement
The production features a stellar ensemble led by Indira Varma as Levene, the veteran saleswoman in a Chicago real estate office who has fallen on hard times. Rosa Salazar, the US actor, takes on the role of Roma, the ruthless and morally ambiguous top salesperson. They are joined by Mercedes Bahleda, Nancy Crane, Dorothea Myer-Bennett, Florence Odumosu, and Niky Wardley.
A New Perspective
While the idea of an all-female 'Glengarry Glen Ross' has been discussed for years, including plans for a gender-swapped Broadway run that never materialized, Marber is now bringing it to life with a fresh creative team. The director acknowledges that simply flipping genders without adaptation may not work, as female workplace dynamics differ significantly from the testosterone-driven aggression of the original. This production aims to explore those nuances, offering a compelling reinterpretation of Mamet's work.
Performance Details
'Glengarry Glen Ross' runs at the Old Vic from June 4 to July 18, 2026. Tickets are available now. This production is part of a vibrant London theatre scene, which also includes Michael Sheen's return to the West End after 20 years.
