Two Michelin-starred Texas barbecue institutions, InterStellar BBQ and La Barbecue, are set to bring their signature smoked meats to London for a one-month residency at The Ned in the City of London, starting September 4. The collaboration will take over the hotel's Electric Bar & Diner, offering a £150 sharing tray for two, featuring dishes from both Austin-based restaurants.
What’s on the £150 BBQ tray?
The 'ultimate BBQ tray' will be prepared by pitmasters John Bates from InterStellar BBQ and Ali Clem from La Barbecue. It includes InterStellar’s peach tea glazed pork belly, pulled lamb shoulder, chimichurri beef short rib, and La Barbecue’s pork ribs and chopped cheese sausage. Sides include Texas toast, La Barbecue queso shells & cheese, InterStellar beans, and beetroot salad.
For an additional £50, diners can add La Barbecue’s USDA prime brisket sourced from Creekstone Farm for two people. Dessert options include InterStellar’s banana pudding with Jack Daniel’s caramel, and Jack Daniel’s cocktails will be available, including a Texan Sun with corn and honey, a hard shake with banana and raisin, and picklebacks.
Background on the two BBQ joints
Both InterStellar and La Barbecue received their Michelin stars in 2024. La Barbecue launched in 2012, while InterStellar opened in 2019. The residency at The Ned runs from September 4 until October 4. InterStellar previously enjoyed a successful pop-up at The Ned last year, but this marks the first time La Barbecue has come to the UK.
Where and when
The Ned is located at 27 Poultry, City, EC2R 8AJ. The residency is part of a series of barbecue events in London, which has seen other changes, such as the closure of Bodean’s all London locations.
