The new London Museum at Smithfield has announced its food and drink offerings, featuring a flagship restaurant overseen by acclaimed chef Robin Gill, cocktails from award-winning bartender Mr Lyan, and a 24-hour café. Hospitality company Green & Fortune will operate four venues in the museum, which is set to open on November 28, 2026.
Four Venues, Top Culinary Talent
Green & Fortune will launch Clerks House, Bartholomew’s, the Temperance Cocoa Rooms, and The Roost. Robin Gill, known for restaurants like The Dairy, Darby’s, and Sorella, will curate food across all venues. Mr Lyan (Ryan Chetiyawardana) of Lyaness will create a cocktail menu for Bartholomew’s inspired by the museum’s displays.
Clerks House: All-Day Dining
The 140-cover Clerks House will be an all-day dining room and bistro on the ground floor. It will serve breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, weekend brunch, and Sunday roasts, featuring seasonal produce, a Gill-curated pie menu, and a weekly-changing wine list. Hearty British meats and stews with fresh UK-grown vegetables are expected.
Bartholomew’s: Cocktails with a Historical Twist
Bartholomew’s, named after the historic Bartholomew Fair held in Smithfield for over 700 years, will open onto Farringdon Road. It will offer a draught London Museum lager, a signature seasonal shandy, and a cocktail menu by Mr Lyan Studio that riffs on the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibitions.
Temperance Cocoa Rooms: 24-Hour Alcohol-Free Spot
The Temperance Cocoa Rooms restores a historic Lockhart’s Cocoa Rooms discovered during renovation. This alcohol-free venue will serve pastries, sandwiches, toasties, soups, coffee, hot chocolate, and mocktails. It will be open daily, with 24-hour service from Thursday to Sunday.
The Roost: Incubator for Emerging Chefs
The Roost will host rotating street food residencies lasting six months, acting as a platform to nurture emerging talent. Chefs can use it as a test kitchen for their products. The first residency is yet to be announced.
Green & Fortune has a 10-year contract to manage the museum’s food and drink offerings. London Museum Smithfield is located at EC1 9AG and opens November 28, 2026.
