Napoli on the Road, the award-winning pizzeria recently crowned Europe's best for the third consecutive year, has launched a pizza tasting menu at its new Soho branch on Wardour Street. The £65 per person offering includes four pizzas, fritti, a salad intermezzo, sorbet, and a trio of desserts, with an optional £40 wine pairing.
The tasting menu details
The menu begins with fritti, followed by an asparagus and anchovy colatura white pizza topped with pecorino and anchovy sauce. Next is a classic margherita with slow-cooked tomato, tomato jam, buffalo mozzarella, and wild garlic pesto. A melon and cucumber salad provides a palate cleanser before a vitello tonnato-inspired pizza with veal and tuna sauce. The fourth and final pizza is chef Michele Pascarella's signature: slow-cooked cuts of beef rib, shin, oxtail, and pork rib. Dessert includes a sgroppino sorbet, ricotta cream tartlet, zuppetta diplomatica, and an ice-cream bar with dark chocolate and hazelnuts.
Chef's philosophy
'Our tasting menu was not created with the idea of making something complex,' said Pascarella. 'We did not want to impress with techniques for their own sake or build a journey that feels distant from people, but to do exactly the opposite. We want to tell a story made of memories, seasonality, ingredients, and flavours that everyone can understand from the very first bite.' The tasting menu is exclusive to the Soho branch at 140 Wardour Street.
Award-winning pedigree
Last month, Napoli on the Road won the top prize at the 50 Top Pizza Europa 2026 Awards for the third year in a row. Pascarella, originally from Maddaloni near Naples, started the business in 2016 on a three-wheeled Ape Piaggio truck at London street markets. He opened a permanent pizzeria in Chiswick in 2019, followed by a Richmond branch in 2023, and the Soho location earlier this year.
