A Festive Sip in Miniature: The Tiny Fragolino Arrives

This year saw the launch of an innovative range of miniature cocktails, a collaboration between Bar Lina and renowned drinks writer Tyler Zielinski. Their mission was to reimagine classic Italian drinks in a smaller, more delicate form, perfect for light sipping before a meal. The latest creation to emerge from this partnership is the Tiny Fragolino, a rosy-red concoction designed to capture the festive spirit.

Crafting the Perfect Tiny Fragolino

The recipe is an exercise in precision and flavour. Matteo Pesce, Head of Beverage at Bar Lina, developed this drink with Tyler Zielinski. To make it, you will need a select few ingredients that come together to create a complex yet refreshing aperitif.

You start with 15ml of red vermouth, for which the bar uses Karminia. This is joined by 7½ml of strawberry liqueur, specifically Bepi Tosolini’s Fragola, which provides a rustic, fruity base. The final component is cherry kombucha, used to top up the glass; the recipe recommends the black cherry variety from You + I, but notes that any cherry kombucha will work perfectly.

How to Mix Your Festive Aperitif

The method is straightforward, ensuring anyone can replicate this professional cocktail at home. Simply measure the vermouth and strawberry liqueur into a shaker. Add ice and then stir gently to combine the flavours without over-dilution. Strain the mixture into a small highball glass. The final step is to pour in the cherry kombucha to your personal taste, creating a festively fizzy drink that is ready to serve and enjoy.

This Tiny Fragolino is now available at Bar Lina locations in both London and Manchester, offering Brits a taste of an Italian-inspired Christmas. It stands as a testament to the growing trend of sophisticated, low-alcohol aperitifs that don't compromise on flavour.
