The incident occurred on March 31 at a toll plaza in Bedford, New Hampshire, where the 51-year-old performer was involved in a single-vehicle collision.
Dramatic Rescue from Burning Vehicle
According to New Hampshire State Police, a veteran state trooper assigned to Governor Kelly Ayotte's security detail arrived at the scene while responding units were en route. The trooper discovered Mirman's car actively on fire with the driver still trapped inside. Acting quickly, the trooper pulled Mirman from the burning vehicle through a window, with Governor Ayotte and other witnesses providing assistance at the scene.
Hospitalization and Recovery
Mirman was transported to a local hospital with what authorities described as serious injuries. A representative for the actor confirmed the incident to People magazine, stating: "Eugene was in a very scary car accident.
