Thorpe Park has announced the launch of Tenement, its first-ever fully immersive, pitch-black scare maze, as part of the 25th anniversary of its Fright Nights Halloween event. The new attraction will challenge visitors to navigate an abandoned tenement building using only a failing shared handheld light, with the experience designed to tap into the instinctive fear of the dark.
Fright Nights returns to Thorpe Park in Surrey on selected dates from Friday, 2 October until Sunday, 1 November 2026. The event runs from 3pm to 9pm on operating days, and the park is approximately 32 minutes by train from London Waterloo, making it accessible for Londoners seeking a spooky night out.
Tenement: A New Dimension of Fear
In Tenement, guests must find their way through an abandoned tenement as the power dies, navigating reflections, illusions, and sensory scares while creatures lurk in the darkness. The maze's storyline involves the building's tenants mysteriously vanishing, with every flicker of light revealing something seemingly getting closer. Thorpe Park says the attraction is designed to play on one of the most instinctive human fears: the fear of the dark.

Four Scare Mazes and More Attractions
Tenement joins Thorpe Park's existing line-up of four scare mazes. Trailers returns with a new screening, Blood Red Roses, bringing horror nightmares to life inside the SuperSpark Cinema. Stitches is reopening Howell's Toy Emporium, where new toys are waiting to make unsuspecting visitors part of the collection. Survival Games will once again send guests through a labyrinth of shifting pathways, assassins, and brutal obstacles, while DeadBeat takes visitors into an underground nightclub where creatures lurk beneath the music.
Beyond the mazes, Purgatory Town, Thorpe Park's first speak-to-scare zone, returns with new inhabitants desperate to tell their stories. Lucifer's Lair promises a show from the Lord of Darkness, and The Crows will spread their silent terror around the park. For live entertainment, Creature Campus: Reunion Reckoning brings old rivalries back to life, while new for 2026 is the Rebel Ball, sponsored by Fanta, taking over The Launch Pad with music, dancing, and fire performances.
Thrill Rides After Dark
For those who prefer coasters to monsters, Fright Nights also offers the chance to ride Thorpe Park's biggest attractions after sunset. This includes Hyperia, the UK's fastest and tallest rollercoaster, alongside THE SWARM, SAW-The Ride, Stealth, and Nemesis Inferno. With rides running after dark, Thorpe Park promises a different atmosphere from a daytime visit.
Ticket Prices and Booking Information
Tickets are available online through Thorpe Park, with prices starting at £39 per person for entry. Tickets including access to the scare mazes start at £71 online. Buying at the gate is more expensive, with standard entry from £66 and tickets including the scare mazes from £98. The recommended age for the event is 13+, with Survival Games rated 15.
