St Pancras Christmas Tree Crowned London's Best for 2025
St Pancras has London's best Christmas tree for 2025

London's most spectacular Christmas tree for the 2025 festive season has been officially revealed. The prestigious title, awarded by Time Out, goes to the breathtaking 'Powered by Dreams' installation at St Pancras International station.

A Tree Powered by Children's Dreams

This is no ordinary spruce. Created in a heartwarming collaboration with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), the tree is a unique blend of tradition and innovation. Standing an impressive 12 metres tall, it is inspired by a classic music box.

The design features 180 metres of fairy lights and a spiral of 158 glowing baubles. At its base sits an ornamental clockwork winder. True to its inspiration, the entire tree gently rotates to a soothing melody.

The crowning glory is a ballerina figurine at the top. She is based on a real dancer from the GOSH Charity-funded GOSH Arts programme, who performs for children and families on the hospital wards.

Wishes for the Future Take Centre Stage

The tree's magic lies in its deeply personal decorations. Thirty-eight children from Great Ormond Street Hospital were invited to draw their 'wishes for the future'. These beautiful drawings were then printed onto the baubles that adorn the branches.

Visitors can peek through special 'dream windows' to see how written notes from the children are processed by a 'dream machine' and transformed into the colourful ornaments. Dreams depicted include becoming an Olympic gymnast, training to be a pilot, and travelling into outer space.

Bringing this vision to life was a monumental task. It required 30 skilled craftspeople and took a total of 1,800 hours to complete.

An Interactive Display for a Vital Cause

The installation is designed to be fully interactive and inclusive. A seating area at the base of the tree allows visitors to rest and enjoy the spectacle. Buttons are available to activate the music, and there is braille text for patients with sensory loss.

Critically, a donation box is present, with all contributions going directly to support the vital work of Great Ormond Street Hospital. The tree is not just a festive decoration; it's a powerful fundraiser for a beloved institution.

Time Out announced the winner on Tuesday 2 December 2025, cementing the St Pancras tree's status as the capital's must-see festive attraction this year.
