London's Mayor has delivered a last-minute, crucial alert for anyone planning to watch the capital's world-famous New Year's Eve fireworks in person.
Ticket-Only Access for Thames Viewing
Mayor Sadiq Khan has issued an urgent statement, reminding all spectators that entry to the official viewing areas along the River Thames is strictly for ticket holders only. The warning comes ahead of the display scheduled for Tuesday, 31st December 2025.
He emphasised that anyone hoping to secure a spot on the embankment must have purchased a ticket through the proper authorised channels, such as Ticketmaster. Those arriving without a valid pass will be turned away from the prime riverside locations.
Official Broadcast and Alternative Viewpoints
For the many without tickets, the Mayor pointed to the official live broadcast. In a post on the social media platform X, he wrote: “Reminder: you must have a ticket to attend our city's iconic New Year's Eve fireworks. If you don’t have a ticket, you can still enjoy the entire spectacular show live on BBC One or BBC iPlayer at midnight.”
Several alternative public viewpoints will also be available across the city for unticketed crowds. One of the most popular is Parliament Hill in Hampstead, which offers a panoramic, albeit distant, vista of the London skyline.
Stark Warning Over Fake Tickets
The Mayor's reminder follows a similar caution issued last year concerning counterfeit tickets. In previous celebrations, the circulation of fake passes has caused significant disruption at an event that reliably draws hundreds of thousands of revellers.
This annual warning aims to prevent both public disappointment and organisational chaos, ensuring a smooth and safe start to the new year for everyone in the capital.
