A London favourite returns
The original London production of the musical, which premiered in 2010, was a massive success, winning three Olivier Awards and running for almost three years—significantly longer than its Broadway run. The show helped launch the stage career of Sheridan Smith, who starred as Elle Woods in that original production.
London has consistently embraced the story of the pink-loving, seemingly ditzy wannabe lawyer who follows her boyfriend to Harvard and ends up cracking a major case. A previous revival took place in 2022 at the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, and now a third production is set to grace the capital's stages.
Tour arrives from Leicester
This latest iteration of Legally Blonde is a touring edition that originated at the Curve Theatre in Leicester, known for its musical productions, and is coming to London for the first time. The production is directed by the Curve's artistic director, Nikolai Foster, who has been given the keys to the London Coliseum for a busy 2027 season.
Foster's Legally Blonde will play a two-month stint at the Coliseum in the spring, immediately followed by his new production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the summer. This marks a significant presence for Foster at one of London's largest theatres.
Amber Davies takes the lead
Amber Davies, who won Love Island and was the runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2025, will star as Elle Woods. The role marks a return to the Coliseum for Davies, who appeared there a year earlier in the hit Great Gatsby musical.
