Country Music Festival Returns to Tooting Common This Summer
The popular Country on the Common festival is set to make a welcome return to Tooting Common in South London this summer, following official approval from local authorities. The two-day event will take place over the weekend of July 5th and 6th, 2026, promising an expanded programme of entertainment for music lovers and families alike.
Expanded Festival Programme and Activities
Originally launched in 2025 as London's first outdoor celebration of country, roots and blues music, the festival returns on a larger scale this year. Attendees can look forward to a vibrant mix of live musical performances alongside traditional country-themed activities.

The festival will also feature a dedicated food and drink area offering barbecue cuisine, craft beers, and whiskey tastings. Council Approval and Community Considerations
Wandsworth Council granted contractor Enable Leisure and Culture a two-day licence following a hearing on January 23rd, 2026. The approval allows for an increased daily capacity of 7,500 attendees, up from 6,000 visitors per day during the inaugural event.
While the plans received three written objections from local residents concerned about potential noise disturbance, no objectors attended the licensing meeting to voice their concerns directly. One couple expressed worries that noise from the festival would carry into our home, affecting their peace and quiet.
Aisling Galligan, senior events producer at Enable, emphasised that the company was keen to repeat the event due to its successful and safe operation in 2025. She confirmed that robust noise management measures and comprehensive security plans would be implemented to minimise disruption to local residents.
Official Endorsement and Operational Details
The council's licensing committee formally approved the festival plans in a detailed report, noting that extensive conditions and management strategies proposed by Enable had adequately addressed all raised concerns. The report highlighted that last year's event was well received with no incidents or concerns requiring committee intervention.
Festival hours have been set from 1:00 PM to 10:30 PM on Saturday, July 5th, and from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Sunday, July 6th. Organisers have committed to applying lessons learned from the previous year's event in consultation with responsible authorities.
