Reality TV star Vicky Pattison has unveiled a breathtaking new diamond ring, a heartfelt replacement for the £200,000 engagement ring that was stolen from her just weeks before her wedding earlier this year.
A Heartbreaking Theft Before the Wedding
The former Geordie Shore star, 38, married her partner Ercan Ramadan, 32, in a ceremony at London’s Marylebone Town Hall in August. The couple later celebrated with a second wedding party in Puglia, Italy. However, their joyous plans were marred by a distressing incident shortly before the big day.
Vicky’s original engagement ring, valued at approximately £200,000, was stolen when a bag containing it was snatched from a train she was travelling on from her hometown of Newcastle. The loss left the television personality ‘absolutely distraught’ and ‘inconsolable’ at the time.
An Early Christmas Surprise
Months on from the theft and her subsequent weddings, Vicky’s husband has stepped in to mend the heartache with a spectacular surprise. Taking to Instagram, Pattison shared the news with her followers, posting a photo of her new ring and another of her kissing Ercan’s cheek.
‘Christmas came early in our house…’ she wrote in the caption. She described the past year as ‘a mad old year’, crediting her ‘incredible husband’ for his support. ‘Having him by my side through the highs and the lows has made everything just that little bit better!’
She revealed that during a cosy, low-key date night at home, Ercan presented her with a ‘beautiful new engagement ring and wedding ring’. ‘This gesture has absolutely made my year!’ she exclaimed, also noting he had chosen it in a new colour. She concluded her emotional post with a heartfelt declaration of love.
Celebrity Friends React and an Ongoing Age Joke
The post was quickly flooded with supportive messages from famous friends, including Angela Scanlon and Ruth Langsford, who celebrated the couple’s happy news.
The revelation of the new ring comes after Vicky recently discussed a long-running joke about her husband’s age. On her podcast Get A Grip, she explained that when they began dating, the press found it ‘alien’ that she, then 31, was with a 25-year-old man. They incorrectly assumed he was older, and Vicky has never corrected the record, leading to reports often listing Ercan as 42.
‘He is fuming,’ Vicky laughed during the podcast. Ercan later commented on a clip of the discussion on Instagram, joking: ‘Taking liberties now. Tell them my real age god dammit.’
The couple’s Italian wedding was featured in a Channel 4 documentary, Vicky Pattison: My Big Fat Geordie Wedding. She also thanked Leonné Jewellery in her Instagram post for creating ‘the most beautiful pieces of jewellery I’ve ever owned’.
