Fans of the cult sitcom Peep Show are in for a festive treat this year as the cast is set to reunite for a one-off Christmas special of The Great British Bake Off.
A Long-Awaited Reunion
The special episode will mark the first time since 2015 that the core cast members have come together. Leading the reunion are Olivia Colman and David Mitchell, the Oscar-winning actress and the celebrated comedian who played Sophie Chapman and Mark Corrigan respectively.
They will be joined by several of their former co-stars, including Isy Suttie (Dobby), Matt King (Super Hans), and Sophie Winkleman (Big Suze). The group will trade their Croydon flat for the iconic baking tent, putting their culinary skills to the test.
Baking with a Peep Show Twist
The challenges in this festive special will be directly inspired by the beloved Channel 4 sitcom, adding a unique flavour to the usual bakes. Judging their efforts will be the formidable duo of Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith.
The episode will be hosted by the regular presenting team of Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond. While Channel 4 has confirmed the special is coming this Christmas, an exact broadcast date and time are yet to be announced.
Following a Record-Breaking Year
This cast reunion news comes hot on the heels of the conclusion of the main Bake Off series, which saw Jasmine Mitchell crowned the latest champion.
Judge Paul Hollywood praised Jasmine, calling her a "worthy winner" and stating she was "the best one we have seen for quite a while." Her victory was historic, as she became the first competitor in the programme's history to secure five Star Baker accolades and then win the final, surpassing a record previously set by Richard Burr in 2014.
After her win, Jasmine expressed her joy, saying, "Oh my goodness I am just so overjoyed!... I am just so unbelievably happy to have done it with such an awesome group of people."
