Kelly Brook reveals Lizzo 'blanked her live on air'

Television and radio presenter Kelly Brook has opened up about her most uncomfortable celebrity encounter, revealing that pop sensation Lizzo completely ignored her during a live radio interview.

The Awkward On-Air Encounter

The 45-year-old model, who currently hosts Heart Drive with Jason King, described the interaction with the American singer as her 'worst' celebrity interview experience. Speaking at the MITS awards according to The Sun, Brook didn't hold back about the disappointing encounter.

'I do have one. Mine was Lizzo,' the presenter confessed, expressing her surprise given the female empowerment themes prevalent in Lizzo's music, including her hit song Truth Hurts.

Brook had expected a warm exchange between two successful women in the entertainment industry but was left feeling invisible throughout the entire interview. 'I thought she would be a bit more for the women but she didn't take her glasses off and she didn't look at me once,' Brook recalled.

Feeling Invisible During Interview

The television personality detailed how the US star exclusively addressed her co-host Jason King, making her feel completely excluded from the conversation. 'She just spoke to JK. For me, someone like Lizzo is a strong woman and I just thought she would be a bit warmer towards me. But it was like I didn't even exist.'

Brook emphasised how unusual such behaviour was in her experience interviewing celebrities. 'It was weird. It was weird. Most people we love. It's very rare we get one that's like that. That was unusual,' she repeated, clearly still affected by the memory.

I'm A Celebrity Comeback and Past Feuds

This revelation comes as Brook prepares to join the cast of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, which returns to ITV on Sunday, November 16. She'll be entering the jungle alongside notable names including Martin Kemp, Jack Osbourne, Ruby Wax, Alex Scott, Eddie Kadi, Aitch, Lisa Riley, Shona McGarty, and YouTube sensation Angry Ginge.

This marks Brook's onscreen reunion with hosts Ant and Dec after their previous professional relationship on Britain's Got Talent in 2009. At that time, Brook served as a fourth judge but departed the reality series after just a few days.

While ITV initially stated her exit was due to the four-judge format not working, Brook later revealed to The Standard in 2012 that there might have been more to the story. 'The people at ITV were telling me that I had upset Ant and Dec and that was it,' she explained.

The presenter expressed her disappointment at the time, saying, 'I would love to have stayed on the show. I really felt it was working out. Ant and Dec had never been anything but pleasant to my face, but clearly, they didn't want me on the show.'

Ant and Dec themselves have reflected on the unusual dynamic, recalling in their memoir how Kelly asked them 'What do you do?' on her first day of filming. They compared the experience to meeting the Queen, writing: 'I don't want to sound like an egomaniac, but the last person who said, "And what do you do?" was the Queen when I met her at the party for ITV's fiftieth anniversary.'

However, Dec later told Metro that 'there is certainly no bad blood from our side', attempting to downplay any serious feud.

According to a source close to the upcoming jungle series, there might be some apprehension about the reunion. 'It's been a long time since they last worked together, so understandably there is apprehension on both sides,' the insider revealed.

As Brook prepares for her jungle adventure, Metro has reached out to Lizzo's representatives for comment regarding the alleged cold treatment during the radio interview.
