Reality television star Katie Price has launched a fierce rebuttal against journalist and broadcaster Miranda Sawyer, branding her a 'liar' after Sawyer claimed she was bullied by Price during an interview years ago.
The Alleged Airport Incident
Miranda Sawyer first made the allegations on a recent episode of The Glue Factory podcast. She recounted travelling from London to Leeds to interview Price for what was intended to be a feminist-focused piece. Sawyer claimed that upon meeting at airport security, the first thing Katie Price said to her was, "they only stopped you because you're scruffy."
She then described a later moment during a lunch, where after mentioning she was hungry, Price allegedly told her to "Shut up, no one's listening." Sawyer stated Price repeated the phrase, which led her to believe she was being bullied during the encounter.
Price's Forceful Denial on Her Podcast
Katie Price addressed the claims directly in the latest instalment of The Katie Price Show, her own podcast. She stated she first saw the story on TikTok and immediately commented, "What a liar." Price disputed the accuracy of Sawyer's memory, insisting she could not recall ever meeting the journalist.
While attempting to address the specific anecdotes, Price offered a different version. "Apparently I saw her at the airport and security stopped her and I said 'I'm not surprised you looked so scruffy,'" she recounted, but stressed that her airport focus is solely on herself. She firmly denied the 'shut up' comments, stating, "Anyone who knows me knows I'm not rude like that."
Accusations of Name-Dropping for Publicity
The mother-of-five was adamant that such behaviour was completely out of character. "I would never speak to anyone like that," she insisted, expressing offence that the story portrayed her negatively, even if Sawyer was laughing while telling it.
Price suggested a potential motive for the story, alleging Sawyer might be "using my name in a podcast to get people to listen, because people love to use my name to promote things." She clarified that while she might use similar banter with close friends and family, she would never do so in a professional interview setting.
In her final dismissal of the claims, posted on December 4, 2025, Katie Price concluded, "What a load of b******* that is." Metro has contacted Miranda Sawyer for comment in light of Price's denial.
