Hall, who played the character Samson Dingle from 2009 until 2024, has become a fully qualified electrician, marking a significant shift away from the acting world.

Sam Hall, who played him, has become a friend of mine," Hooton stated. He further elaborated, "He's also a qualified electrician, so has done a lot of work for me in my house!"
Hooton also speculated about potential future storylines, suggesting that Samson's return to the village could introduce compelling narratives, particularly as Sam and Lydia Dingle, played by Karen Blick, would discover how much the character has transformed during his time in prison.
