Leigh-Anne Pinnock reveals husband Andre Gray's therapy saved marriage after betrayal
Leigh-Anne Pinnock: Husband's therapy saved marriage

Former Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock has given a candid account of how therapy for her footballer husband Andre Gray became the lifeline for their marriage following a painful betrayal. The couple, both aged 34, have been married since 2023 and share twin daughters born in 2021.

The Heartbreak and the 'Weird Time'

In a revealing interview on Paloma Faith's Mad Sad Bad podcast, Leigh-Anne explained the couple endured a difficult period where she felt a profound loss of trust. She described a sense of betrayal after her husband was not 'totally honest', an experience she later channelled into writing an entire EP.

'Heartbreak is wild, it’s awful,' the singer shared. 'Especially [with] someone that you’re so madly in love with and think that they are as well – and they can hurt you.' She confirmed these marital struggles began before Gray's career move to play for Aris Thessaloniki in Greece's Super League.

Abroad, Reflection, and the Decision to Change

Leigh-Anne credits Gray's subsequent time alone abroad as a crucial turning point. The physical distance provided him with the space for introspection. Andre Gray decided to seek professional therapy in a dedicated effort to salvage their relationship.

'I think that person has to want to change and he did,' Leigh-Anne stated. 'They have to do the work, and they have to turn it around... [He went to] therapy and I think what really helped for us, he started playing abroad and he had more time to himself to kind of look and realise that everything that he was doing was not how you make a relationship work... It’s selfish.'

Forgiveness and a 'Beautiful Place'

This is not the first time the Don't Say Love artist has alluded to these issues. In a 2024 TikTok video for Dose of Society, when asked about her last heartbreak, she revealed it was caused by her husband. However, she emphasised the transformative power of forgiveness and his commitment to change.

'I’m still with the person who broke my heart and he went out of his way to change for me,' she said. 'If they go out of their way to change themselves, I really do think that kind of tells you everything you need to know.'

Leigh-Anne, who recently noted she only sees her husband 'three days a month' due to his international career with Turkish club Fatih Karagümrük, concluded that navigating these struggles was necessary. 'For me personally I had to go through these struggles and things in our relationship to get to the point where we are now, which is a really beautiful place.'
