FRAMELESS London Launches Immersive Colour Monster Experience
FRAMELESS London: Immersive Colour Monster Experience

London's premier immersive art destination, FRAMELESS, is set to captivate families this February half term with a groundbreaking new experience that brings the beloved children's book The Colour Monster to life. This innovative installation marks the first time Anna Llenas' bestselling story has been transformed into a fully immersive sensory journey, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to explore emotions through interactive colour, movement, and sound.

A Celebration of Reading and Emotional Awareness

Created to honour both the National Year of Reading and the book's significant 10th anniversary, the experience carefully translates Llenas' distinctive collage-style illustrations from the page into a calm, engaging environment. Designed thoughtfully for both children and adults, it provides a gentle, magical space where families can slow down, connect meaningfully, and discuss feelings together in a supportive atmosphere.

Journey Through Emotional Worlds

Hosted within FRAMELESS' versatile Blank Canvas Gallery, the installation guides visitors through a series of beautifully crafted emotional worlds. Each feeling—from happiness and sadness to anger and calm—is assigned its own colour, atmosphere, and dedicated moment, encouraging curiosity, personal reflection, and open conversation among participants.

The immersive narrative follows the familiar tale of The Colour Monster, who initially feels overwhelmed as his emotions become tangled together. With gentle assistance, each emotion is separated into individual coloured jars, reinforcing the story's reassuring core message: all feelings are valid, and talking about them openly helps us understand and manage them better.

Building Emotional Literacy Through Play

For over a decade, The Colour Monster has supported children worldwide in developing emotional literacy and resilience, drawing inspiration from Llenas' background in art therapy and her belief that wellbeing conversations should feel playful, accessible, and engaging. This experience extends that mission into a three-dimensional format, making emotional education an interactive adventure.
