Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is devastated when the CPS drops her case against Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) due to lack of evidence next week in Emmerdale. But Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) refuse to give up, launching their own investigation at the hospital. Charity later meets Helen (Nicole Evans), another victim of Todd, and reveals that Todd raped her, offering a glimmer of hope for the case.
Mack and Vanessa unite against Dr Todd
On Monday, July 20, Charity learns the CPS won't pursue Todd, leaving her broken. Mack and Vanessa join forces to find former complaints against Todd at the hospital. Meanwhile, Kim Tate (Claire King) discovers a break-in at Home Farm and arms herself with a shotgun, tasking Ross Barton (Michael Parr) with investigating. Ross accuses Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) and later Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), leading to a fight with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) explains everything to Robert and is allowed to stay. Kim finds a USB stick has been stolen. Elsewhere, Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) pushes Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) to keep his café job, upsetting Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler).
Charity meets another victim
On Tuesday, July 21, Vanessa and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) meet with an HR representative to dig for dirt on Todd. Charity discovers their scheme and confronts Vanessa. But when Charity meets Helen, another victim of Todd, she tenderly reveals her own rape, hitting Helen hard. With Robert out of action, Aaron offers Serena a job on the farm, which she uses to get closer to Ross. Meanwhile, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) seeks further treatment for his dog Monty, and Kev learns that Lewis Barton's (Bradley Riches) birthday is approaching.
Serena's mysterious motives
On Wednesday, July 22, Serena continues to manipulate Ross during their date, digging into Home Farm's operations. Cain's focus on Monty creates tension with Moira and son Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn), who struggles with cadets due to his dad's disinterest. When Cain learns Monty's tumours are inoperable, he is inconsolable. Kev unsettles Lewis with gifts to make up for missed years.
Cain faces danger on camping trip
On Thursday, July 23, Cain is furious to discover Kyle has invited Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) on their camping trip. Tensions escalate until Cain loses his temper, and Kyle tells him off. As Cain storms away, he falls down a hillside, trapping his leg as night falls. Kev's heavy attempts to bond with Lewis stress Lewis out. Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) is overjoyed to find her wedding dress.
Kev's past resurfaces
On Friday, July 24, Kev is stressed when old friend Steve (Jason Done) arrives in the village, warning him not to jeopardise his new life. Dawn struggles to tolerate Billy Fletcher's (Jay Kontzle) romance with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), who also struggles with food. When Billy cooks Gabby a meal, she distracts him to avoid eating.
