Sainsbury's Nectar Card Now Works on Deliveroo for Grocery Points
Sainsbury's Nectar Card Now Works on Deliveroo

Sainsbury's has announced a significant expansion of its popular Nectar loyalty scheme, enabling customers to collect points on their grocery deliveries made through the Deliveroo app.

How to Earn Nectar Points on Deliveroo

The change, announced on November 29, 2025, means shoppers who need essential items from Sainsbury's but cannot visit a store will no longer miss out on loyalty rewards. When placing an order from a participating Sainsbury's store via Deliveroo, customers now have the option to input their registered Nectar card number at the checkout.

Shoppers will earn one Nectar point for every £1 spent on eligible products purchased through the platform. It is important to note that this new integration is currently exclusive to Deliveroo and is not available on other delivery platforms like Uber Eats.

A "Massive Win" for Customer Loyalty

Suzy McClintock, Vice President of New Verticals at Deliveroo, celebrated the partnership. She described the integration as a "massive win for our customers" and stated it further establishes Deliveroo as the top destination for on-demand convenience coupled with loyalty rewards.

McClintock added, "We are delighted to be welcoming Nectar, one of the UK’s most valued and far-reaching loyalty schemes, to Deliveroo." This move places the Nectar scheme, with its 24 million members, in direct competition with other supermarkets that have forged similar alliances with delivery aggregators.

The Evolving Landscape of Supermarket Loyalty

Sainsbury's is not the first UK supermarket to link its loyalty programme with a major delivery app. The Co-op already offers its Member Prices on both Deliveroo and Uber Eats. Similarly, Morrisons made its More Card available on Deliveroo back in March. For Tesco shoppers, the ability to collect Clubcard points has been a feature of its Whoosh delivery service from the outset.

This development follows another major update Sainsbury's made to the Nectar scheme in July, concerning Your Nectar Prices. Initially, these personalised discounts were only accessible online or via the Smart Shop app. Now, shoppers can access these savings directly at the till by swiping their Nectar card, a change that could save customers up to £150 a year.

The race to integrate loyalty schemes with quick-commerce platforms highlights the growing importance of digital convenience and rewards in the competitive UK grocery market.
