Christmas food shopping is about to get a whole lot sweeter, as Marks & Spencer unveils its highly anticipated festive dessert range in stores today. With the big day just around the corner, fans of the retailer are already planning to dash to their local Foodhall, predicting weekend 'carnage' in the aisles.
What's on the M&S Christmas Dessert Menu?
The new collection, hailed as 'scrumptious' by shoppers online, features a mix of modern twists and traditional favourites. The launch officially took place on December 18, 2025, giving customers plenty of time to stock up before the festivities begin.
The line-up includes five standout options. First, the classic Best Ever Yule Log makes a return, featuring rich chocolate sponge, fresh vanilla cream, and milk and dark chocolate ganache.
For a decadent new creation, there's the Sticky Toffee Trifle. This dessert layers caramelised sponge, toffee sauce, vanilla custard, and British cream for a luxurious take on a British icon.
Positioned as a real 'showstopper', the Shimmering Clementine Cheesecake boasts a creamy baked vanilla base with clementine sauce pockets and a digestive biscuit crust, finished with a festive clementine glaze and gold dusting.
Those seeking tradition can opt for the Raspberry and Sherry Trifle, complete with fresh raspberries, jelly, Amontillado sherry-laced sponge, custard, and cream.
Finally, from December 20, a towering stack of 32 Profiteroles will be available. Filled with cream and layered with chocolate and white chocolate sauces, M&S promises it will be a 'serious crowdpleaser'.
Shoppers Declare 'Crimbo Day Sorted'
The announcement has sent social media into a frenzy, with customers vowing to 'run' and 'rush' to stores. On Instagram, user @coastal_custodian pleaded: 'Make Sticky Toffee Trifle all year please.'
'OMG. Sticky Toffee Trifle is out tomorrow! Utter delirious panic!!!!' wrote @johcou78, while @abbietodd__x commented: 'Absolutely will be rushing out to get the Yule Log. Was starting to panic since I hadn’t seen it yet.'
Other reactions described the range as 'magnificent', 'yummy', 'amazing', and 'delicious', with @leanneparker30 simply proclaiming: 'Crimbo day sorted.'
Festive Hits and High-Price Controversy
This dessert launch follows another viral success for M&S this season: its Christmas chocolate tin. Shoppers declared The Big Mix, priced at £7 for 650g or £12 for 1.2kg, 'better than Quality Street'.
However, not all festive products escaped criticism. The retailer faced backlash for a Tom Kerridge Beef Wellington priced at £195. Although it has since sold out, many customers branded the cost for the 2kg showstopper 'ridiculous' and 'stupid'.
An M&S spokesperson defended the premium product, stating it contained hand-butchered British beef fillet matured over 17 days and was 'the absolute best quality Wellington we’ve ever created.'
As the final weekend of pre-Christmas shopping arrives, it seems M&S is betting on its new pudding range to be the sweet success story of the season, likely leading to bustling aisles as shoppers scramble to secure their festive centrepieces.
