In a surprising and innovative collaboration, chocolate giant Cadbury has joined forces with UK protein brand Grenade to create a world-first sweet treat. The companies have unveiled the first ever Creme Egg protein bar, a limited-edition product that reimagines the iconic seasonal favourite.
A Sweet and Protein-Packed Smash-Up
The new offering, named the Soft Core Creme Egg Protein Bar, transforms the classic gooey centre into a 'fluffy protein dough' with the signature yellow yolk filling. This unique centre is then enveloped in smooth milk chocolate, mirroring the original Creme Egg experience in a new, performance-focused format.
According to Grenade, each bar is designed to be smooth, bold and unapologetically indulgent. It packs a substantial 12 grams of protein while containing only two grams of sugar. The brand describes it as a true smash-up of Creme Egg flavour and protein functionality, heralding a new era of soft and satisfying protein bars.
Launch Details and Public Reaction
The excitement for this unique product is already building. Neal Duffy, Head of Brand Activation at Grenade, stated: 'Grenade is rewriting the script with the first ever Creme Egg-flavoured protein product. We are so excited to be working with the Creme Egg team.'
This sentiment is being echoed by chocolate lovers on social media. On Instagram, user @thef1master wrote they were 'seriously looking forward to these,' while @umar08200024 declared them 'the best.' Another user, @projectsaltrun, who tried the bar early, confirmed its authenticity, saying, 'It’s so good, it basically tastes like a Creme Egg in a bar and the protein is an added bonus.'
How and When to Get Your Hands On One
The limited-edition bar is available to preorder directly from Grenade's website starting November 24. It will then be sold on Amazon from December 8. For those hoping to find it in a physical supermarket or high street store, the wait will be a little longer, as it is not expected to hit shop shelves until January.
This special treat will only be available until Easter. When it launches in physical retail, the expected price is £2.50 per individual bar, or £36 for a bulk pack of 18. It is important to note that final prices may vary, as retailers are able to set their own pricing.
This launch comes amidst other news in the chocolate world, with Cadbury recently having to publicly confirm that its Dairy Milk chocolate does indeed meet all UK and EU criteria to be labelled as chocolate, dispelling rumours that had circulated on social media.
