Inside Vogue Williams & Spencer Matthews' £5.25M London Home Sale
Vogue Williams & Spencer Matthews Sell £5.25M Home

Television personalities Vogue Williams and Spencer Matthews have sold their impressive £5,250,000 London residence earlier this year, embarking on a search for a larger family home. The couple, married since 2018, decided their stunning two-storey Battersea property no longer suited their growing family's needs.

The Family Outgrows Their London Base

The pair share three children - Theodore, six, Gigi, four, and Otto, two - and concluded they required more space than the property's 4,000 square feet could provide. Their former home featured a magnificent 750 square foot open-plan kitchen and living area that opened onto a beautiful terrace complete with outdoor furniture and grill facilities.

The property boasted a primary bedroom with en-suite bathroom plus two additional bedrooms throughout the home. For the fitness-focused couple, a fully-equipped home gym provided workout space, while a home cinema offered entertainment options. The house showcased distinctive artistic touches with colourful artwork by Irish artists Chloe Early and Conor Harrington.

Clashing Interior Design Visions

Spencer Matthews, the 37-year-old former Made In Chelsea star, previously revealed how his interior design concepts for the property faced strong opposition from his wife. Speaking to the Sunday Times, he explained his initial vision: "I thought it would be cool to have this fun, New York studio vibe. Exposed brick, an orange resin floor, motorbikes indoors, supercool man cave stuff – but it was outgunned."

Vogue Williams, 40, did not mince words about her husband's proposed design scheme. She responded emphatically: "I absolutely hated it. It was so uncomfortable. And then I had to pay to get wood flooring instead." The couple eventually settled on a bright orange sectional sofa taking centre stage in the living space, adorned with turquoise striped cushions.

Future Plans and Family Philosophy

The £5.25 million sale comes as the couple, who also maintain a property in Vogue's native Dublin, plan their move to a new forever home. Spencer has been vocal about his unconventional approach to inheritance, stating he won't be leaving his substantial fortune to his children.

"Suffer is too strong a word, but it's very important that my kids have to challenge themselves and experience things on their own," he stated. "There's no point in doing well in life and then giving it all to your kids. It's doing them a huge disservice."

Matthews comes from considerable wealth himself as the son of multimillionaire Eden Rock hotelier David Matthews. He attended Eton College, where fees currently reach £63,000 annually, alongside Prince William. The entrepreneur has since launched his own successful business, CleanCo, which specialises in alcohol-free spirits.

According to The Sun, Spencer's various ventures including podcasting, TV appearances, and investments have amassed him an estimated fortune of £12.5 million. Meanwhile, Vogue's net worth is estimated to exceed £3 million through her television and radio work, her tan range Bare By Vogue, and a substantial deal with Fairy that reportedly earned her £1.4 million last year alone.

The couple recently addressed speculation about their relationship status, with Vogue taking to social media to deny "cruel" rumours about their marriage ending. She shared a montage of them together and wrote: "It's with great sadness that I have to let you know that Spen and I are NOT breaking up! I usually avoid addressing baseless and cruel rumours but this just keeps coming up."

She expressed concern about their children hearing false stories in the playground and reassured fans they remain "very happily married and in love" despite the persistent speculation.
