Three intoxicated women unleashed a destructive rampage in a hotel lobby in Bournemouth, forcing a terrified receptionist to barricade herself behind a locked door while being spat at during the alarming incident.
Chaotic Scene Captured on CCTV
The early morning disturbance at the Trouville Hotel occurred on April 19, 2025, with closed-circuit television footage vividly documenting the chaos. Jasmine Orchard, aged 21, Kera McKeown, 19, and Larisa Sumovskaja, 19, were seen staggering towards the reception desk shortly after 11am, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake.
Violent Outburst and Threats
McKeown, described as the main aggressor during a recent court hearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court, reportedly spat multiple times at a receptionist, though she missed her target. She allegedly brandished a vodka bottle, threatening to punch the staff member, while shouting obscenities.
The CCTV shows McKeown, traipsing around barefoot in a white dress, hurling items from the reception desk, including plant pots, pens, and a computer mouse. She overturned a table and slung flowers over the counter, with one thrown phone striking another receptionist on the shoulder.
Receptionist's Harrowing Account
Prosecutor Jason Spelman read a statement from one of the receptionists in court, detailing how Sumovskaja, wearing pink trainers, shouted accusations of rudeness while holding a fire extinguisher. McKeown falsely claimed she had been touched inappropriately, escalating the threats with the vodka bottle.
The prosecutor noted the trio seemed to be quite enjoying themselves as they trashed the entire reception area, with staff and guests looking on helplessly. The receptionist took refuge in a back room, but McKeown followed and banged on the door, intensifying the fear.
Legal Proceedings and Sentencing
McKeown and Sumovskaja have admitted to charges of criminal damage and using threatening or unlawful violence. They are scheduled to be sentenced in March, facing potential penalties for their roles in the hotel destruction.
Orchard's Minimal Involvement
Orchard’s defence argued that she played a very limited role in the violence, with little memory of the events due to her intoxicated state. Her lawyer, Nial Theobald, stated she regrets being involved and has been complying well with a 12-month community order from a prior incident.
Richard Ball, the chair of the bench, accepted that Orchard had a minimal role and did not cause the criminal damage. She received a 12-month conditional discharge for using threatening or abusive words with intent to cause fear of violence and was ordered to pay £111 in costs.
Previous Offences and Compensation
This hotel incident followed earlier misbehaviour by Sumovskaja and Orchard at the Camel Bar in Bournemouth, where they were banned after insulting the manager and assaulting security guards. They were previously ordered to pay £600 in compensation for that damage.
The case highlights ongoing issues with public disorder and alcohol-related violence in hospitality settings, with authorities taking a firm stance through legal action to deter future occurrences.
