The vibrant flavours of Barbados have found a permanent home in East London as Barbs, the cult Caribbean food brand, has opened its first-ever restaurant. Following its success as a Deliveroo hit, the kitchen has launched a full dine-in experience at Shoreditch's legendary Queen of Hoxton.
From Delivery to Dine-In: The Barbs Story
Having built a loyal following through its Deliveroo Editions kitchen and a popular line of signature Bajan sauces, Barbs is now turning up the heat with a physical location. The new restaurant, which opened its doors in November 2025, aims to transport diners to the island with its sunshine, soul, and spice. It marks a significant new chapter, bringing the brand's bold Bajan flavours into one of London's most creative cultural spaces.
A Taste of Barbados in the Heart of Shoreditch
Founder Nicc Wright explains the ethos behind the menu: "Barbs is all about real food and real Bajan flavour, cooked the way it's meant to be. We've taken our family recipes and traditional island techniques and created something that feels completely at home in Shoreditch."
The menu is a celebration of Barbadian cuisine, featuring crowd-pleasing dishes such as:
- Bajan Fried Chicken and Fish Burgers
- Hearty Roti Wraps
- Pumpkin Fritters
- The hugely popular Mac Pie Balls – crispy bites of cheesy macaroni pie served with a fiery sweet chilli dip.
For dessert, the Piña Colada Waffle offers a tropical finish, topped with refreshing pineapple sorbet and a drizzle of coconut. Every dish can be elevated with Barbs' own house-made sauces, ranging from the creamy Fancy Sauce to the intensely spicy Bajan Hot Pepper Sauce, all crafted to achieve the perfect balance of heat and sweetness.
A Vibrant Partnership for East London
The collaboration between Barbs and the Queen of Hoxton represents a fusion of culinary excellence and vibrant cultural energy. This move solidifies Barbs' mission to redefine how Britain experiences authentic Barbadian food, transforming from a delivery sensation into a must-visit destination for anyone seeking big, bold, and unforgettable Caribbean flavours in the capital.
