Construction worker wins £47k car in online competition

A construction worker from East London has had his life transformed after winning a brand-new luxury car worth £47,000 in an online competition.

A Surprise Visit on Site

Amaniel Haile, a 27-year-old from East Ham, was busy operating machinery on a building site when presenters from the dream car company BOTB arrived to deliver the astonishing news. The team, including Christian Williams and Katie Knight, interrupted his workday to reveal he was the latest winner of their weekly giveaway.

"I'm in shock. Is this real?" said Amaniel, who had been entering the spot-the-ball competition for two years. "I never thought I would win. It's a dream." He added that he regularly watched videos of other winners, never imagining he would feature in one himself.

The Moment of Revelation

The presenters led Amaniel down the street where his prize, a sleek Cupra Terramar VZ1, was parked and waiting. As he sat inside for the first time, Christian talked him through the car's impressive specifications, which include a powerful i4 Turbo engine, 261bhp output, and a top speed of 151mph.

The win was made even more special by the fact that Amaniel had never owned a brand-new car before. His wife had been secretly involved in planning the surprise, even convincing him to wash his work clothes beforehand without raising suspicion.

Plans for the Prize

After the initial excitement settled, Amaniel reflected on his life-changing win. Despite his love for the vehicle, he is considering taking the cash alternative. "I'm planning to take the cash alternative, but I'm in no rush to spend it," he explained. "I want to focus on work and save the money before making any big decisions on what to do with it."

BOTB presenter Christian Williams said: "Amaniel is one of those players who has played BOTB for years, watching other winners and hoping for the day he'd be one of the lucky ones. Seeing him sit inside his first-ever brand-new car was amazing."

Katie Knight added: "It was such a great moment. You could see instantly how much it meant to him. Revealing the car around the corner and watching his face light up was just priceless."

BOTB continues to give away dream cars every week, with other current prizes including a £78,000 Audi RSQ8 and a £1.15 million townhouse in Bath.
