TUI Launches Direct Flights from Birmingham to The Gambia for Winter Sun
New Direct Flights from Birmingham to The Gambia

TUI has announced the launch of direct flights from Birmingham Airport to The Gambia, a West African country known as the 'smiling coast.' Starting November 2, the budget holiday operator will fly to the capital, Banjul, on Mondays. These flights complement existing routes from London Gatwick and Manchester Airport.

Why Choose The Gambia for Winter Sun?

The Gambia offers year-round sunshine with temperatures reaching the mid-30°C range. The dry season runs from November to May, ensuring minimal rainfall. Additionally, the country operates on UK time, eliminating jet lag. Flight times from the UK are approximately six hours, significantly shorter than other winter sun destinations like the Caribbean (8-10 hours) or Mauritius (11-12 hours).

Nature and Wildlife

The smallest country in West Africa, bordered by Senegal, boasts unspoiled white sandy beaches and lush green forests. Visitors can spot chimpanzees, hippos, crocodiles, baboons, and bottle-nose dolphins in the River Gambia estuary. Birdwatchers will enjoy nearly 600 species, including pelicans and paradise flycatchers.
