Lady Gaga and tech CEO fiancé Michael Polansky have reportedly welcomed their first child, according to multiple outlets. Photos circulating online show the couple walking through California with Gaga carrying a young baby, though neither has publicly confirmed the news.
Who is Michael Polansky?
Michael Polansky is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist born in Minnesota. He co-founded Outer Biosciences, a biotechnology company focused on skin health and dermatology. He is also a music producer and co-wrote several songs with Lady Gaga, including Disease, How Bad Do U Want Me, LoveDrug, and Vanish into You.
According to LinkedIn, Polansky studied Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at Harvard University from 2002 to 2006 before starting his tech business career. In 2016, he co-founded the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy alongside Facebook co-founder Sean Parker. The institute is described as an active research organization aiming to 'remove barriers, encourage collaboration and turn ideas into real-world cancer treatments.' His net worth has been estimated at up to $600 million.
How did Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky meet?
Lady Gaga first heard of Michael Polansky through her mother, Cynthia, who met him at a charity event. Gaga told Vogue that her mum said, 'I think I just met your husband.' Gaga initially brushed it off, as she 'could never have imagined that my mom… found the most perfect person for me.'
In September 2019, they were introduced at Sean Parker's birthday party and spoke for three hours. Michael recalled, 'I didn’t know much about her and honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. I was struck immediately by her warmth and openness. She was so genuinely curious about what my life was like growing up in Minnesota.' After talking every day for three weeks, he flew to Las Vegas for their first date.
Going public and engagement
In February 2020, Gaga posted an Instagram photo cuddling with Michael in Miami, captioning it: 'We had so much fun in Miami. Love to all my little monsters and fans, you’re the best!' The post gained almost three million likes.
A source told Entertainment Tonight: 'She wasn’t expecting to get so involved so quickly after her last relationship, but she started telling her friends she was completely in love with him. Anyone that has spent any time with them can see the connection. They are completely smitten. Her friends haven’t seen her this happy in years. It didn’t take long for her friends to adore him too.'
That year, she told InStyle she was excited about motherhood: 'I will say I am very excited to have kids. I look forward to being a mum. Isn’t it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it.'
In July 2024, the couple announced their engagement at the Paris Olympics, though they had been engaged since April.
Baby reports
As of this writing, neither Gaga nor Michael has publicly confirmed the birth. However, both Page Six and People have cited sources close to the couple saying it is true. The child’s gender, name, and birth date have not been disclosed.
