London is set for a day of non-stop sunshine this week and into the late May bank holiday weekend, when temperatures will reach a high of 27C, followed by days of warm and pleasant weather.
Unsettled Start to the Week
But Londoners will first have to endure a rough start to the week, according to forecasters. Monday (May 18) promises to be the worst day, with showers and a high chance of thunder, while temperatures will reach no higher than 15C.
The outlook will be much the same on Tuesday, with more thunder and showers on the horizon, although temperatures will inch upwards to a peak of 18C. Wednesday will see milder rainfall and an end to thunder, while Thursday is expected to improve considerably, with a light breeze and temperatures climbing to 24C.
Hottest Days Ahead
The hottest day of the week is anticipated to be Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23, when temperatures reach 27C alongside non-stop sunshine. This is warmer than Marbella and Barcelona in Spain, which will see a measly 25C.
The good weather will carry on through the weekend, with enduring sunshine and temperatures hovering in the mid-20s on Sunday and Monday.

The Met Office states: "Tuesday will be cloudy and breezy, with rain clearing to the east during the morning, followed by frequent heavy showers in the afternoon before easing into the evening. Wednesday is expected to be breezy with showers, becoming more settled on Thursday with only the odd isolated shower, followed by a dry and warm sunny day on Friday."
"High pressure is expected to bring a good deal of fair, warm weather to the UK during the Bank Holiday weekend. Through the following week, high pressure is expected to broadly remain in place for much of the UK, and fine weather is likely to continue for most of the country. Temperatures are expected to be above normal, feeling very warm at times with light winds."
